Elvis Challenge

January 2026 thru August 2026

 

 

The Elvis challenge invites you to create a wall hanging or small quilted item that is inspired by Elvis Presley’s music.  We encourage you to use your creativity and use of various techniques, color, and fabrics.  You are encouraged to use any of Elvis’ songs as a theme for your piece, be it the title or lyrics of the song you pick.  This is a great opportunity for you to showcase your skills and share your passion for quilting using Elvis’ music. 

 

Since Elvis was born in January and passed in August we will use those dates as our parameters, beginning the challenge in January and showing your results at our August meeting (date to be determined).  That gives you 8 months to work on your masterpiece. 

 

The only other stipulation is that your project be no larger than 24 x 36 inches. 

 

If your masterpiece does not have the title of the song incorporated into it, please pin a paper on the back with the title of the song you used for your inspiration. 

 

Everyone that participates will have their name put in for the drawing for prizes.

*** Note:  If you are a snowbird and wish to participate in the challenge you may send Brenda Call a picture of your finished project by the August date and she will include it in the drawing.  Her email is bltclrc@gmail.com
