“Ugly Birds Fat Quarter Swap”

 

Ugly Fat Quarter Swap dates:

• Fat quarters must be turned in on or before January 18

• Blocks are due May 16th and may be turned in early to Coreen Burnett.

 

Let’s turn Ugly fabric into beautiful birds.  Please bring an interesting (“ugly”) fat quarter to our meeting on January 18th in a brown bag.  Those who do will receive a mystery fat quarter in return.  You must use this fabric in your bird block.  You can piece, applique – hand or machine, paper piece a bird block. 

 

• Use any background fabric you desire.

• Block must be 12 ½” unfinished.  Go bigger if desired and we can trim down to 12 ½”.

• You must use some of the “Ugly” fabric.

• It must be a recognizable bird block. 

• If your block is a appliqued block your bird must be appliqued by machine or hand to the background fabric.

• Completed blocks will be due May 16th.

• Blocks will be made into Charity Quilts.

• The more blocks we receive, the more charity quilts can be made.

• Prizes will be awarded, names will be randomly drawn from the blocks that are returned.

• Blocks may be returned as completed to Coreen Burnett.
